I created the projects below using Google Maps. Google Maps is another free feature that comes with a Gmail account. Google Maps allows a person to choose any location, plot custom points, and become interactive for the viewer. The first map displays landmarks of my other hometown Manchester, Georgia. The second map shows major landmarks in Joplin, Missouri, where the 2011 EF5 tornado hit. My professor instructed the class to create maps that tell a journalistic story about a significant event and our hometown.
